5 model tourist hamlets to develop at Dal Lake: DC


In order to formulate the action plan for holistic development and establish tourist hamlets in Dal Lake, a meeting was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad at DC Office Complex, here .
The meeting held deliberations on the various aspects regarding the formulation of a comprehensive action plan for infrastructure development, skills development and beautification measures of five hamlets including Kachri Mohalla, Sofi Mohalla, Tinda Mohalla, Akhoon Mohalla and the Vegetable Market and Floating Garden at Dal Lac.
On occasion, the DC directed officers to prepare sound departmental plans within a week for the development of five hamlets/mohallas in Dal Lake being established on a pilot basis for the development of tourist hamlets with all basic facilities for locals as well as tourists and locals. visitors.
The DC said the development of tourist villages should be done in such a way as to provide tourists with homestay accommodation facilities, in addition to providing employment opportunities for local youths by offering them a workforce. work through various government self-employment programs.
He instructed all line agents to carry out a joint survey in these hamlets to identify young people interested in agriculture, horticulture, handicrafts and other trades so that they are properly taken care of to earn their life for young local unemployed people.
The Department of Tourism has been requested to prepare a detailed plan for the beautification/improvement of the facades in and around the identified hamlets in coordination with LCMA to finalize the proposed overall plan.
He asked the officers to explore the possibilities within the framework of the youth mission program for the development of these model villages and insisted on the creation of youth clubs in these areas and their involvement in the sustainable development of these hamlets.
The DC has also focused on raising public awareness of the various fisheries, floriculture, agriculture and livestock welfare programs to inform local people about the beneficiary programs being implemented. by their respective departments so that the local people obtain employment and derive maximum benefit from it.
