Babusar Track Bungalow Open to Tourists – Newspaper


GILGIT: An old road to Gilgit-Baltistan, Bungalow Babusar Track, near Babusar Top in Diamer district has been opened for tourists.

The 3km track was the historic route between the Kunhar River and the Indus River and for years it remained the only jeep route to connect Britain with the rest of the country until the 1960s.

After rehabilitation and improvement, the track was opened to tourists on Sunday.

Diamer Deputy Commissioner Fayyaz Ahmed inaugurated the track in a ceremony attended by district administration officials and local people.

People who attended the ceremony traveled from Sarai Babusar to Laisko and passed by shops selling handicrafts and other items set up on the trail.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Ahmed said the opening of Bungalow Babusar Track will allow tourists to visit the historical APA house of Babusar, the old bungalow bazaar and other tourist attractions in the area. .

He said the opening of the track will boost tourism in the area and businesses of local traders.

He said that Babusar is a very famous tourist destination and a large number of tourists and GBs pass through the point every day.

The Deputy Commissioner has pledged to make the road a tourist hub in the region and provide all the facilities for it. Shops selling local and traditional items will be set up on either side of the track.

Britain’s Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid Khan and Chief Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmed recently issued guidelines to local government to develop new tourist destinations across Britain.
