Canopy diffuser review: it replaced all my candles

When Canopy launched its innovative line of humidifiers last year, it was unlike anything we had ever seen. The machines were affordable and more mold resistant than most, making them easy to recommend. Today, the brand is reinventing the essential oil diffuser to scent your home without hassle.

What makes the diffuser different

This new generation diffuser is intended to “eliminate the hassle and health risks of traditional models”. The desktop-friendly device is small and uses no water, which means it won’t grow mold or harbor bacteria like aquifer machines do. “Part of what was missing in the market was the versatility and optionality of these products,” explains Eric Neher, brand marketing director. “In most aroma diffusers, all you can really do is fill the basin with water, pour some oil into the diffuser and turn it on, and that’s the scent you will get. until the water runs out, then you have to go in and thoroughly clean the inside of the diffuser and start the process again. “

With the Canopy Diffuser, you don’t have to deal with any of these inconveniences. Plus, it comes with two different diffusion methods, which allow for a truly personalized experience to scent your home. You can either place a few drops of essential oil on an aroma washer, which gives you a strong, short-term fragrance diffusion, or you can use the essential oil well for a longer lasting scent. “You can diffuse a scent for a minute and then change it immediately,” says Neher. “Aromatic rings give you the flexibility to change the scent depending on what your mood really dictates.”

What you need to know about essential oil blends

To celebrate the diffuser launch, Canopy is also launching its very first line of original essential oil blends (in the past, the brand has partnered with The Sill and Open Spaces to develop flavors). “The first drop is called ‘Sanctuary’, and we thought it made a lot of sense to start with a collection that aims to make your home the haven you really want to be,” says Neher. “Right now, with what’s going on in the world and the fact that we spend a lot of time indoors, we have to do everything we can to make our homes feel really comfortable and like a place that promotes our well-being. “

The collection includes three scents, each intended to serve a different purpose throughout your day. “We wanted to start with a collection that seemed to cover the basis of modern fragrance profiles,” says Neher.

First, Freshwater Rose, which combines rose water, peony petals and orange oil. “We see this one as a start or restart of your day,” says Neher. “It’s about bringing joy and merriment into your home, and it’s a great way to freshen up your home.”

Then there’s a tangy but woody blend of blackberry, wild rhubarb, and Amyris oil called Blackberry Vines. “We wanted to create a scent that feels like hugging and pampering you in comfort while really adding an element of coziness and coziness to the home,” says Neher, explaining that the combination of shiny fruit with the woody, peppery aroma of Amryis gives a “complex scent profile that will induce calm relaxation”.

Finally, there’s Suede Smoke, which aims to create a “smoky, sultry and alluring moment,” Neher explains. “We see this as a nighttime broadcast,” he adds. The scent combines powdery suede with rich, floral jasmine and the herbal and earthy notes of vetiver for a subtly sweet and sensual aroma.

While you can – and absolutely must – use the brand’s essential oils (Blackberry Vines is a look-alike for Diptyque Berries), you can also diffuse your own essential oils or single-note blends if you prefer.

Is it worth it?

Although the diffuser is small, it is also powerful and it scents my entire 550 square foot apartment. For $ 90, you can get one diffuser, one of the Sanctuary scent samples, and one well – or, for $ 70, you can subscribe to receive the diffuser, three Sanctuary blends, one well. Then every six weeks you will receive three Santuary mixes, three new washers and a brand new well and you will be billed $ 20 at that time. Based on my personal experience with the range, I’ll go ahead and suggest the latter.
