Chairing the State Bamboo Mission meeting held at the Secretariat on Friday, he said the funds amounted to 1,184 crore, including 710 crore (60% share) from the Center and 473 crore ( 40%) from the state government. are available with the State Bamboo Mission.
Explaining the use of bamboo in the construction industry, incense stick industry, furniture and handicrafts, CS said there is a good demand for bamboo. Therefore, officials should widely promote bamboo cultivation in the state.
The Center and state governments will provide a 50% subsidy for the cultivation of bamboo by individuals and a 100% subsidy for the establishment of plantations on government land. All farmers in the state are eligible for growing bamboo. Officials should educate farmers about the benefits of growing bamboo, he said.
