He said on his podcast“Izzy is just the most sophisticated attacker.

“If you watch hitting, if you’re a hitting person and you like setups and stuff, he does something very different because he moves guys in a certain way.

“He reads you, like when you see Izzy moving around, he reads you.

“He downloads all your data and he can see people’s weaknesses. A good example is Paulo Costa. Paulo Costa crushed everyone. He just hit people.

“He’s a giant dude. They call him The Eraser. He would just go forward.

Joe Rogan thinks Israel Adesanya is the best forward in the UFC

“And Izzy just separated him and made him look like an idiot.

“At the end of the first round, you could see he was confused, he was screwed because he knew, ‘I can’t hit that guy and he’s standing right in front of me. He would hit Izzy and he would just be out of range, then he would make him pay.

“He’s so skilled, man. For a guy like me who’s been interested in punching his whole life, seeing a guy like that who was a top-flight kickboxer work his way into MMA.

“I contacted Izzy before he fought in the UFC. I saw him fight in kickboxing matches and I contacted him on Instagram, a long time ago. He told me that he was going to do some fights in China but he was going to come to the UFC but he was going to do it the right way. He did it the right way.

Rogan also shared his thoughts on a potential fight between Adesanya and Alex Pereira, with the latter holding two wins over the former in the kickboxing world.

Last time out, Pereira beat Bruno Silva by unanimous decision and Rogan thinks the Brazilian could cause him some problems.

He added: “The way he describes it, it’s like a lot of people are just pimple breakers.

“Like you’re playing a game, try to shake things up. He puts things together, and there are other guys making things happen. That’s one of the things that makes this weekend -end so interesting.

“It’s because he’s on the same card as Alex Pereira, and Alex Pereira knocked him out. He knocked him out with a left hook in a kickboxing match. And he beat him once by unanimous decision, then in the rematch he knocked out Izzy.

“He’s only fought twice in the UFC but he’s won both fights and now he’s fighting number four ranked Sean Strickland which is very interesting because they’re basically trying to speed him up to a fight with Izzy .

“I’m not saying he could beat him, but Alex Pereira is one of the scariest fucking strikers on planet earth. He’s that guy from Brazil. He’s a bad motherfucker.

“Having said that, the Izzy of then is not the Izzy of today. He’s much better now, much better now.
