BISMARCK, ND (KFYR) – When you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for, do it yourself. It’s often an easier said than done situation, but this week Johnnie Candle takes us back to 2007, for a DIY situation, as we look back through the years of our Pro’s Silver Anniversary. Pointers.

Johnnie Candle (2007 onwards): “The last few weeks I’ve been guiding pretty hard on Devils Lake and we’ve had great success hanging the leachates under the floats.

Johnnie Candle, MWC World Walleye Champion and North Dakota Fishing Hall of Fame: “Some things haven’t changed, and I’m still using jigs from this batch that we made 14 years ago. when this tip first aired and trust me it was a HUGE bundle of templates.

Candle (2007 onwards): “We increased the level of a 1 / O hook in a 16 ounce jig, which looks absurdly large, but the snap percentage crossed the graph. “

Candle: “The reason for the 1 / O hook is that the first line of defense against leachate is to curl up in the fish’s mouth. The larger hook will penetrate the layers and still have enough space to connect with the fish.

Candle (from 2007): “It’s a classic example where bigger is better. “

My name is Johnnie Candle and this is this week’s Pro’s Pointer.

Next week, Johnnie will speak on Harmful Aquatic Species, a topic he first touched on in 2008.
